What are the core values of the Apprentice Leader Intern Program?
Working Hard:
(Matthew 5:1) Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. (Message)
Giving Sacrificially:
(Matthew 10:40) The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing. (Message)
Being Teachable:
(Luke 6:39) An apprentice doesn't lecture the master. The point is to be careful who you follow as your teacher. (Message)
Shared Vision:
(2 Timothy 3:10) You've been a good apprentice to me, a part of my teaching, my manner of life, direction, faith, steadiness, love, patience, troubles, sufferings… (Message)
How do I qualify?
You must be a college-aged student male or female who have clearly displayed the call of God on your life to full-time (vocational) or part-time (volunteer) ministry within the local church. In addition, you must clearly demonstrate the call of God on your life to our local church. Three adult references are required from non-family members. Your resume needs to be attached to your application. (See application form)
What will be my duties?
You will be required to be an integral part of the office staff at City Church. Duties will vary according to need. You will have an emphasis on Middle School / High School / College ministry. In addition you will be given opportunity to take part in public ministry on a Sunday.
What will I be provided with?
You will have access to the leadership of City Church and office space to plan, prepare, meeting with people and study. You will also have access to a shared computer on our network.
Who am I responsible to?
You will be responsible to our Lead Pastor.
What type of study will I be required to do?
You will be required to take the Belbin Test to gage your strengths and allowable weaknesses as it relates to any given task on a team. You will also have required reading and papers to write. (See book list) In addition you will have a daily devotional and journal to keep. (See outline on personal journal)
What are my financial expectations?
You will be required to seek out part-time employment for income. In addition, a stipend will be set from money given through the church to the Intern Program. You will be responsible for all your expenses and transportation.

The following are to be read throughout the calendar year. A minimum two page typed double spaced review paper must be written on each book. (Font size 12) All books do not have to be purchased but available on loan from our Lead Pastor's library. Papers are to be submitted to our Lead Pastor or designated Bible teacher.

Required devotional and journal:
Each devotion will be periodically discussed with the leadership of City Church throughout each month. Your journal should be typed as a 'reaction' to what you have just read in your own ministry context. No more than a short paragraph a day.

Policy
1. I will respect and obey the authorities placed over me.
2. I will keep an appropriate code.
3. I will not participate in illegal activity
4. I will not gossip or slander my leaders
5. I will always be prompt for meetings, training sessions and services.
6. I will complete all ministry assignments and attend all meetings without question, excuse or complaint.
7. I will use discretion when determining what I will view (movies, internet, reading material.)
8. I understand it is inappropriate to date or develop romantic relationships with anyone in the internship.
9. I will not counsel the opposite sex under any circumstances.
10. I will allow nothing to enter my life, which may become a distraction to my purpose of being part of the internship.
11. I understand that any moral violations and continual minor violations will result in immediate expulsion from the internship without refund.
12. I understand that the Leadership of City Church shall constitute the final say in matters relating to this agreement and internship, including matters that may not be specifically covered in this document.
13. I will do my best to follow the specifics of this agreement and do all the tasks given me without complaining.
